The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) dropped charges of assault against DJ Maphorisa.
In May, Thulisile Phongolo opened a case of assault against the music producer and he’s been in and out of court to clear his name.
NPA spokesperson, Phindi Mjonondwane confirmed to ZiMoja that the case got withdrawn at Phori’s fourth appearance in court.
“It is alleged that on Sunday, 7 May 2023, the accused (Sekowe) assaulted his girlfriend, Thulisile Phongolo by hitting her with open hands and strangled her after she confronted him about an incident that happened the previous night where he was booked to perform. The complainant laid a charge with Sandton South African Police Service (SAPS), who acted promptly and arrested the accused,” NPA reported.
Thuli and Maphorisa have allegedly separated and the Amapiano star collected the luxusious items he bought for the actress while they were dating.
