Heavy K and Prince Kaybee’s ugly fight over 3Step origins
Heavy K and Prince Kaybee clash online over who can rightfully claim to have introduced the rising 3Step sound to South Africa.
The tension boiled over on Facebook after a discussion about the genre’s origins caught Heavy K’s attention.
The producer, real name Mkhululi Siqula, referenced Prince Kaybee’s 2019 track Ebabayo in the debate, quipping: “Then they know who their grandfather is.”
Prince Kaybee, whose real name is Kabelo Motsamai, wasted no time hitting back, boldly declaring himself the “God” of 3Step and dismissing any intimidation from Heavy K.
In response, Drumboss fired: “I’m the one who inspired you from the jump when you still had dreadlocks. No one’s scared of you, my grandson.”
Not backing down, Kaybee countered with another sharp jab: “Khusta, before you run out of air, when I was pioneering 3Step, you were still trying to revive Inde.”
Their online showdown quickly got fans talking, with social media split over who truly brought the trending genre to life.
The spat adds to Prince Kaybee’s long list of public feuds, with the star often unafraid to ruffle feathers in the industry.
