Brickz in prison

Sipho “Brickz” Ndlovu reportedly makes gospel music in prison and has also joined the choir in order to retain his sanity.

A friend who visited the musician in prison revealed how he’s surviving while serving his 15 years of imprisonment.

“He is very remorseful and serving his time the best way he knows how,” he says.

“In the beginning, he had not accepted that he will be serving time but now he is at peace and paying his dues. He is involved in projects and keeping himself busy and he has not stopped making music.”

“He has changed. He listens to more gospel music and started making gospel. He also sings in the choir; he has always been a good singer outside of kwaito and rapping. He will always be a kwaito artist, but gospel has kept him sane and thinking positively. His faith has improved, and he is wise and a spiritual guy. That is the Sipho that we all grew up with before the fame.”

In 2013, Brickz was found guilty of raping his 16-year-old niece at his Ruimsig home.

The girl bled after the incident and her hymen broke, as she was a virgin at the time, and she was in severe pain.

The victim had been told by Brickz to take a bath after the rape ordeal and he had threatened to kill her if she told anyone. He also said the victim was not aware that she had been infected with a sexually transmitted disease.

The family of the young girl was happy that the law took its course as their daughter was on the verge of taking her life.

Meanwhile, it was revealed that the Kwaito musician wasn’t remorseful and refused to apologise to the family.
