ISIKO II (meaning “tradition” or “heritage”) is the second installment of Mkeyz’s sonic journey into ancestral, soulful Amapiano — and it’s even deeper, richer, and more culturally resonant than its predecessor. Known for his haunting vocals and delicate keyboard work, Mkeyz uses this project to fuse personal storytelling, spirituality, and African tradition into a cohesive and emotive body of work.

Mkeyz recently appeared on Siyibonile featuring De Mthuda and Sam Deep.

Each track on ISIKO II is steeped in feeling, using call-and-response, chant-like refrains, and melodic progressions that feel almost hymn-like. There’s an emphasis on emotional honesty, love, healing, and cultural identity. Traditional elements are layered gently with log drums, jazzy chords, and ambient textures, making this project perfect for both meditation and meaningful dancefloor moments.

Whether you’re Zulu, Xhosa, or from across the continent, ISIKO II speaks to African identity and healing through music, carried by Mkeyz’s warm, spiritual voice and signature piano magic.
