With the year shutting down in few days, we look back at some of the most sorted after hip hop records on our platform in 2018 without judging external factors such as airplay or music quality.
Check it out below.
Sjava – Abangani ft. Emtee & Saudi
Sjava’s single Ambagani is the most sorted after hip hop recording on Fakaza in 2018. The record was listed on his EP Umphako, released under Ambitiouz Entertainment in July
Abangani which featured Emtee & Saudi didn’t get make it to the double disc album Umqhele released last week which is a surprise considering the song is a certified hit.
Kwesta – Vur Vai
Kwesta’s surprise single Vur Vai got 1million YouTube streams few hours after it was released and as such it’s no surprise it’s the second most viewed hip hop records on our site this year.
A dope joint.
AKA – Fela in Versace ft. Kiddominant
AKA’s instant hit Fela in Versace is arguably the biggest South African song released in 2018 but didn’t get to become number 1 as it was only promoted as a single 2 months after the release of Touch My Bloood album
The sign falls short of Ambagani & Vur Vai as the most sorted after hip hop cut on Fakaza for the year.
Cassper Nyovest – Ksazobalit
Ksazobalit, performed by hip hop mogul Cassper Nyovest was the beginning of something special from Cassper in 2018.
The song became a club anthem almost immediately after it was released.
Stilo Magolide – Cry No More
A surprise appearance among heavyweights. Still Magolode’s Cry No More, a love song topped Fakaza’s listening when it was released.
The rapper even said Fakaza owes him few bags because of the amount of downloads.
