Zuma and Reece Madlisa reunite after 2 years split
Reece Madlisa and Sabelo Zuma have officially reunited after two years apart.
The duo, famously associated with the Amaroto name, sent social media into a frenzy with a surprise performance at the Durban July, marking their first shared stage appearance since 2023.
The artists had been pursuing individual careers, each releasing solo material over the past two years.
However, whispers of a reunion began when the pair teased a collaboration with Kabza De Small, and now the rumours have been confirmed.
Reece Madlisa opened up about their return, explaining that their previous split came from the natural challenges of working closely together.
“We have been trying to resolve our differences and focus on work. It’s not easy being in a group with different personalities and conflicts, but we are back. We will see how it goes. People have been calling for the reunion,” he said.
Adding clarity to the confusion around their partnership, Zuma explained that Amaroto was never an official group.
“AMAROTO was the name of the EP, not the group,” he stated.
He added that even when they released music together after that, they credited it under their individual names, not a collective.
Despite past tensions, Zuma reassured fans there was never any animosity between them.
