DJ Maphorisa breaks his silence after being accused of exploiting Samthing Soweto.
Hell was let loose on social media after Mas Musiq released a new song with Samthing’s vocals, but he wasn’t credited.
DJ Maphorisa and other artists who featured were credited on the song.
South Africans immediately took action into their own hands as they dragged Phori and also called for the removal of the song on streaming platforms.
The music producer went live on Instagram to pour out his heart in regards of the issue.
The DJ started by saying that the song was recorded in his house; he further eulogised Samthing Soweto’s talent, but said the singer is bad with business.
Phori ranted about how he saved the culture and helped people like Samthing, but they ended up betraying him.

I think artists should stop recording in this brother’s house. His house is a problem pic.twitter.com/lijpv72Vul
