During his set on Saturday, 12 July, Drake took a moment to acknowledge Momo’s influence, crediting him for flipping his RnB-meets-dancehall hit Controlla into a soulful Amapiano version.
“I hope you enjoy it. Shout out to Kelvin Momo, he helped me flip this tonight,” Drake told the crowd, igniting excitement among music lovers and fans of the genre.
While it remains unclear whether an official collaboration is in the works, the unexpected tribute sent social media into a frenzy, with clips of the moment going viral.
Fans praised the potential fusion between Drake’s signature sound and Momo’s smooth, emotive style, often referred to as “private school Amapiano.”

This isn’t the first time the Hold On, We’re Going Home hitmaker has shown admiration for Momo.
Back in 2023, Drake slid into the producer’s DMs, leaving a message that left Momo stunned
“You, my friend, are from another planet. Listening to you is like a religious experience.”
