Names of three SA musicians have been on lips of most South Africans since Wednesday evening, as there’s been lots of talk on unpaid royalties and how things went from good to sour between the trio, despite having worked together.
Weeks ago, Makwa opened up on being suicidal as things are not going well for him; afterwards, the producer went Live on Instagram, calling out artists he’s worked with in the past, but have refused paying him. The artists include, DJ Maphorisa, MFR Souls, Ms Cosmo and Kwesta.
Kwesta and Makwa were both in the same record label known has Rap Lyf. While Nota was formerly the rapper’s manager, but they’ve all split.
Nota decided to help Makwa on receiving his royalties, but he met the unexpected.
Taking to Twitter, The Authority, also known as Nota said:
“I went to Makwa’s last night. I’m so upset at how he’s abused my kindness, I wash my hands. A grown man with 2 children who won’t take accountability and address those who have taken advantage of him? I have done nothing but fight for him to get what’s his. He’s now on his own…”
