Uncle Waffles snubbed at Wireless Festival in UK
Internationally celebrated DJ Uncle Waffles was left disheartened after being denied the chance to perform at the UK’s Wireless Festival, despite being scheduled to take the stage and arriving hours ahead of time.
The Amapiano star was booked to perform on Day 3 of the event, where global heavyweight Drake headlined the entire weekend.
According to her team, Uncle Waffles arrived at the venue two hours before her set, fully ready to deliver a world-class performance.
However, due to what they described as poor event coordination and mismanagement, her performance never materialized.
Fans gathered in anticipation, only to be met with disappointment as Uncle Waffles took to the stage briefly to explain the unfortunate turn of events.
“We waited for almost two hours and walked all around to get here and preparing the whole day, and unfortunately the time is over and we have to go,” she said.
“The whole team is here, and everything was prepared, but now they tried cheating us today, so we have to go. I’m so sorry, guys; it’s not our fault. I want you guys to know we would never abandon you guys.”
Her honest and emotional address struck a chord with fans, who quickly took to social media to defend the DJ and express their disappointment in the festival’s organizers.
Supporters praised her professionalism and dedication while criticizing what they saw as a disrespectful snub of one of Africa’s brightest stars.
Uncle Waffles’ rise to international fame has been nothing short of meteoric.
From viral DJ sets to gracing stages like Coachella and embarking on global tours, she has established herself as a powerful presence in the music world.
