“My Thoughts In Song III” by Sipho Magudulela is a seven-track House project that continues the South African guitarist and producer’s deeply personal musical series. The project turns emotions, memories and personal experiences into sound, combining Sipho’s signature live guitar work with soulful melodies, African rhythms and contemporary Amapiano-influenced production.
Sipho Magudulela, Soa Mattrix and Brandon Dhludhlu recently appeared on Sthandwa Sam featuring Neo Joshua Mabena.
The EP/album features “Maria,” “Mdali,” “Xola,” “Sthandwa Sam,” “Kungani,” “Imfundiso” and “Mbilu.” Across the project, intricate guitar riffs, warm melodic passages, atmospheric textures and carefully layered percussion create a rich, organic sound. “Maria” serves as a particularly strong representation of Sipho’s musicianship, while “Xola” introduces themes of forgiveness, peace and emotional calm.
Overall, “My Thoughts In Song III” is an expressive and soulful project that places musicianship and emotion at the centre. Sipho Magudulela’s blend of guitar, African rhythmic influences and modern South African dance music gives the project an intimate yet expansive character, making it well suited to reflective listening, soulful playlists and deeper House sessions.
