“House Of MGUZU, Vol. 3” by uLazi, Navaro & Macasset is a six-track Amapiano project rooted in the energetic Mguzu sound. The EP brings together a wide circle of collaborators, including LeeroSoul, DJ Jaivane, Makwera, Naco, Skara, FaroQii MuziQ and King Wazza, creating a project that feels deeply connected to South Africa’s underground piano movement.
uLazi and Navaro recently appeared on Wela (Revisit) featuring Kabza De Small, Last Born and Saint Zion.
The production is driven by heavy log drums, deep bass, rolling percussion and hypnotic melodic loops, with extended arrangements that allow each groove to develop gradually. Tracks such as “Iparty Party,” “Funa Loo (Jojo),” “Aba Juluke,” “Soulful Sguy,” “QO QO QO” and “Bathini” showcase the project’s emphasis on rhythm, repetition and DJ-friendly progression, with most tracks running between six and eight minutes.
